Bigfest Big fest is a fundraising music festival for the Cheatham Street Warehouse Music Foundation, and a celebration of Big John Mills’ birthday. Rock out with some of the most sensational artists in Texas at this historic venue where big name artists like George Strait and Randy Rogers once played. Radio Free Texas will be broadcasting the event live. A silent auction will also be held. Proceeds benefit the Cheatham Street Music Foundation. $30 for a 3-day pass. June 24 – 26, 2016. Vino & Pasta Pasta and wine? Yes, please! Texas Hill Country/290 Wineries along US 290 will team with a top restaurant in the Texas Hill Country to present “Vino & Pasta”. There is no ticket to buy, but most wineries have a “tasting fee” they normally charge; there is no additional charge for this event. Amateur Radio Field Day Ham radio operators from all over North America will be contacting each other while under simulated emergency conditions. Even if you don’t have a license they can get you on the air so you can experience the fun of ham radio. This event is a good way to see and use lots of different equipment and meet local members. There will be demonstrations of transmitters, receivers, antennas and emergency powers supplies. The event will be held at various locations around the Texas Hill Country. June 25 – 26, 2016.
