Cowboy Camp Meeting Enjoy fine preaching, old-fashioned fellowship and food. Christians from all over leave their denominations “at the gate” and come together for a wonderful week of worship, study, praise and fellowship! Join your family and friends in the shade of the majestic live oak trees and a historic tabernacle. Sunday starts with a Bluegrass Gospel Revival. Lots of great gospel, praise, worship, music, singing and BBQ. A nursery will be available. Free. Bring a side dish to share. Kerrville Folk Festival Celebrating it’s 45th anniversary, The Kerrville Folk Festival is the longest continuously running music festival of its kind in North America, running for 18 straight days and nights each May and June. It’s a place where those just developing their skills have the opportunity to play their music along- side master craftsmen. The festival is chock-full of activities such as workshops, canoeing, bike rides, and camping. Ticket prices vary per day. May 26-June 12, 2016. Cowboy Capital Opry The monthly Cowboy Capital Opry is a Grand Old Opry Style Entertainment hosted by Gerry and Harriet Payne. Held on the first Tuesday of every month, the audience listens to about two hours of incredible music! Artists donate their time and talents to benefit Meals On Wheels. Blanco Lavender Festival Blanco is the Lavender Capital of Texas and holds a great “Lavender Festival” every year in June with vendors, displays, tours, and entertainment. The entire town and the surrounding countryside will be bathed in lavender during the festival. Visit local lavender farms, do a little shopping at The Lavender Market, on the grounds of the historic Blanco County Courthouse, for some lavender-related pleasures and treasures from local Hill Country craftsmen, enjoy some live music, and cool down with a cold beer at the Texas Craft Beer Tent. Hill Country Antique Tractor and Engine Club Show Think tractors are sexy? Then this is your event. Set your sites on some tractor and engine displays, then watch some antique tractor pulls and learn a thing or two about thrashing wheat, baling straw, and processing corn. Wave a flag at the tractor parade and learn about the history of each tractor participating in the show. There will be food, vendors, and children’s activities. June 10-12, 2016. Texas Hill Country Shooting Classic and Sporting Expo A competitive sporting clays shoot with a main event featuring AM & PM flights with Lewis Class winners and concurrent event entry for cash awards for youths, ladies, seniors, sub-gauges and side-by-sides. Each shooter will receive a registration bag with gift items and an opportunity to win valuable door prizes. There will also be a sporting expo featuring top brand name sponsors. Following will be a buffet dinner and live music.
