Mother’s Day is just around the corner and what better way to show your appreciation than a nice outing around our beautiful Hill Country. From wine tastings to live music and festivals all around, there are plenty of ways to treat all types of moms to a wonderful week and weekend!

Operation Guadalupe Takedown An extremely brutal, trying odyssey of over 370 miles of rapids, lakes, dams, stillwaters, and other obstacles that participants will traverse over the course of 8 days. Beginning at Guadalupe Proper in Hunt, Texas, and terminating at San Antonio Bay, there is camping along the way. All proceeds will benefit The Cancer Research Institute. $75/kayak (waived if participant raises $200 or more in donations). San Antonio Bay (Seadrift Landing), Hunt, Texas.

Cowboy Capital Opry Enjoy good old fashioned family entertainment the first Tuesday of every month with live music, benefiting Meals On Wheels. $5 per person or $12 per family. Music on Main Street With only 4 sessions left in this free music series, this is the perfect time to go enjoy the outdoors with food, fun and music. Schertz Sweetheart Court Pageant Since 1989, the Sweetheart Court Ambassadors have promoted the city and joined in various community service projects. Hill Country Run Motorcycle Rally Come celebrate 20 years of motorcycle madness in Luckenbach. With live music, motorcycle runs and a bike competition, there is tons of fun to be had at this two day gathering. Fees and schedule are posted on the official Facebook page. Cactus Jack Foundation PBR Bull Riding Benefiting local youth, this event includes mutton bustin’ and other exciting rodeo events for kids of all ages. ‘Beautiful Within’ Mothers Day Fashion Show Can you think of a better way to honor your mother than this amazing event? Mother’s Day Gospel Brunch with a Twist The Gospel Brunch is led by Bret Graham, one of Gruene Hall’s favorite country musicians.
