On June 28 in the Texas Hill Country, Liberty Hill will be hosting an event unlike any other. It’s called the Day of Giving. Although the town will also be recognizing and honoring Independence Day with celebrations for local families and friends, they have also chosen to host a 24-hour online donation platform focused on philanthropy. It will benefit nine hometown non-profit organizations.
Establishing an online landing page, the town of Liberty Hill is working to connect the organizations which serve their community with those who are wanting to make a difference in their locally. By application process, the organizations were vetted, together with the various projects they have completed and on which they wish to focus. From there, a link was developed for each organization on the Day of Giving web link (available here). On June 28, 2018, Liberty Hill will open the donation links for each of the organizations, allowing residents and supporters to make online contributions to these entities in a day focused on the values of service and giving back to one’s hometown. Donating commences at 11 a.m. The organizations that were recognized in this process will also be acknowledged at the town’s Independence Day Spectacular on July 3. All organizations will also have booths physically set up at this event to support their fundraising efforts further.
