Limited-edition KFC Firelog Smells Just Like Fried Chicken

Instead of chestnuts roasting on an open fire, there’s a new scent on the block (not a block of wood, per se). KFC – that venerable mecca of fried chicken of the fast-food variety – has deemed it necessary to bestow upon us one more way in which to enjoy the scent of their secret recipe over the holidays. They developed a limited-edition KFC “11 Herbs & Spices Firelog” that smelled like their famed fried chicken. And it sold out lightning fast.

It’s not the first time the company developed a product other than chicken that smelled like fried chicken. Like its predecessor product, thousands of people purchased the log which was available for sale on KFCfirelogs.com for the low price of $18.99 (including shipping, handling, and taxes), selling it out in a short period. Is it any wonder? Well, some might think so. Still, others wanted the smell of KFC either to experience the pleasing smoky smell in their own homes or to gift it to a fried chicken fan for the holidays. There’s no report as to whether anyone in the great state of Texas got their hands on one of these beauties, but we’ll venture a guess they did – someone, somewhere in the Lone Star State will be lounging in front of a fried-chicken-scented fire this Christmas, making them one of the happiest Texans on earth.

Shared on countless social media sites and social news pages, it was purported that the KFCfirelogs.com link said, “Imbued with the unmistakable, mouth-watering aroma of Colonel Sanders’ secret recipe, the KFC 11 Herbs & Spices Firelog finally puts to rest the age-old dilemma, ‘How can I make this fire a hundred bajillion times better?’” Developed with materials that were 100 percent recycled, the KFC fire log was created by Enviro-Log, which is known as a manufacturer of Yule logs. It makes perfect scent…’er sense, considering the king of the castle in fried chicken would want only the best for their customers.

With a burning time of up to three hours, the company did have to post a warning to campers that if it was used on a campfire, the delicious aroma of the KFC firelog could attract bears. Unfortunately, there are some individuals who might take their enjoyment of the flammable fried chicken-scented fire log beyond the limit, so the company warned purchasers not to attempt to eat them. If you missed out on this unique opportunity, don’t be alarmed. The alternative is that you lounge by your fire with an actual bucket of KFC… which can be enjoyed by multiple scentses…’er senses at once.
