The most exciting literary event on the South Plains is returning to Lubbock this September. The Lubbock Book Festival will be held at Mahon Library on Saturday, September 25 through Sunday, September 26. The free, two-day event is a chance for readers to meet their favorite authors while celebrating literature and storytelling. More than 40 authors will attend and offer their books for sale to the public, with a wide variety of genres represented. From beginning readers to the most experienced literary connoisseurs, from YA fiction to thrillers, there will be something for everyone at the Lubbock Book Festival.

The event will feature author panels, book signings, family fun crafts, writing workshops, food trucks, and a used book sale courtesy of Friends of the Library. The event is hosted by Literacy Lubbock in partnership with the Lubbock Public Library. Jodi Thomas will be the keynote speaker on Saturday. She is a New York Times bestselling author who has written over 50 novels. Thomas will discuss the book marketplace, how digital media has changed the industry, and she’ll share her experience as a writer.
