‘25 Sure Signs You Grew Up in Texas’ Tugs at the Heartstrings

In case you needed some proof that you’re legitimately from Texas, Buzzfeed has prepared a short video that gives you the clues to figure it out. Shared on their YouTube channel in 2013, the video has garnered over 1.3 million views. Its first draw was likely the fact that it’s about growing up in Texas, but its second draw is the epic pictures/scenery that confirms you’re at home in the Lone Star State.

“25 Sure Signs You Grew Up in Texas” features all of our usual favorites from mums to Whataburger, but it throws in a unique soundtrack that makes you almost feel nostalgic (as if you weren’t already living in the greatest state in America!) and long for summer nights, local sports, and Texas music.

Despite the fact that some comments on the videos page recognize a few key stereotypes that others throughout the United States will identify with Texas, the majority of feedback is positive. And why wouldn’t it be? If you live out-of-state, you’d practically be crying at the video’s wrap-up! The talk of local beer, the movies that have been filmed here, and the numerous state treasures we have to be proud of are only a hint of what’s waiting for a Texan at home.
