A Look Back at Stubb’s BBQ: From Lubbock to Austin

Christopher B. “Stubb” Stubblefield is a legend of Texas barbecue. The original Stubb’s was a restaurant in Lubbock, Texas that hosted Sunday night jam sessions featuring some of the greatest musicians of all time. After the Lubbock location closed, Stubblefield made the move to Austin, the music capital of the Lone Star State. Today, decades after Stubblefield’s passing, the Austin location of Stubb’s continues to host concerts from world-class musicians, as well as cooking up some of the tastiest BBQ in Texas.
