1. Stonewall

Located on the Pedernales River, Stonewall has three claims to fame. The first comes from the sweet Texas peaches it grows, which you’ll definitely want to pick up on your tour of this town full of charm – when the weather’s right, of course. The second is that it’s home to some of the best wineries in Texas. You’re sure to have a tipsy good time at any of their tasting rooms. The third is that it’s the birthplace of Lyndon Baines Johnson, 36th President of the United States. After taking a bit of a fresh, juicy peach on a hot Texas Hill Country day, you can cool down at Stonewall’s LBJ National & State Historical Parks Visitors Centre and tour the famous Texas Whitehouse. Follow that up with the festivities at Stonewall’s Annual Peach Jamboree & Rodeo (which happens in the 3rd full weekend of June) or simply raise a glass in toast to a wonderful day at a local winery!
2. Comfort

Known for great camping, hunting, and fishing, Comfort is full of outdoor Texas Hill Country charm. Located on the Guadalupe River, this beautiful town is at the hub of a few of the finest, most scenic road trip routes you’ll ever come across. Visitors who travel there from Boerne, Bandera, and Kerrville do so by passing through scenery that is second-to-none. Comfort also calls to the avid antique hunter, the wine enthusiast, and the Bed & Breakfast fan. Although any time is a great time to visit Comfort, if you’re in search of festivity, this town has a number of popular events, such as the 4th of July Parade, Comfort’s Scarecrow Invasion in the month of October, and Christmas in Comfort. For those who are history buffs, Comfort is also home to the Treue Der Union Monument, which is definitely a piece of our past worth investigating.
3. Helotes

The Texas Hill Country town of Helotes is home to Old Town Market Days (happening on the first Sunday of each month from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.), not to mention Old Town Helotes itself, including John T. Floore Country Store (yes ma’am!), El Chaparral Mexican Restaurant, and Helotes Creek Winery, just to name a handful. You’ll find Helotes charm in its annual Cornyval Festival, which celebrates music, family fun, games, arts & crafts, and, of course, corn.
