When you think of Christmas time in the Texas Hill Country, most people envision small-town hospitality with quaint, old-fashioned charm. This is exactly what you’ll find at the Marble Falls Walkway of Lights event, held at Marble Falls’ Lakeside Park from November 17 through New Year’s Day. This FREE event is one of the biggest holiday celebrations in the Highland Lakes each year. It features two million lights on more than 130 sculptures. Lakeside Park is illuminated each evening during the holiday season, providing visitors with a feast for the eyes and a boost to their Christmas spirit.

The festivities kick off on Friday, November 17th at 6 p.m. at the annual Light-Up Parade, where the holiday season is officially ushered in along with all of the usual trappings of a small-town parade: floats, bands, and a lighted parade that will delight both young and old. The parade marks the grand opening of the Marble Falls Walkway of Lights and will get everyone into the Christmas spirit.

The Walkway of Lights is open every evening, holidays included, from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. (weather permitting) and takes about 30 minutes to complete. Along the way, as you marvel at the millions of twinkling lights and enjoy refreshments that include hot chocolate and cider, you might just run into Santa Claus himself, who visits the Walkway of Lights on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. The Marble Falls Walkway of Lights is a place to make memories this holiday season and will surely become a tradition in your family.
