jellystone death by chocolate

What sets the Jellystone Park™ resorts apart from other camping destinations are the themed event weekends tailored to maximize every child’s dream. Take, for instance, Death by Chocolate weekend. Think your kids would want to slither down a slip ‘n slide covered in chocolate? Think they have what it takes to win the chocolate milk chugging contest? Or would like to try their luck at Candy Bar Bingo? Finish the weekend right on Sunday morning with the all-you-can-eat chocolate chip pancake breakfast. If chocolate is your thing, this is one weekend you won’t want to miss.

Fourth of July golf cart

Other themed weekends include Dinosaur Weekend where kids can dig for dinosaur fossils, feed dinosaurs, and create dinosaur-themed crafts. Holidays bring another level of fun with campers in costume, contests for the best-decorated campsite, and celebratory parades lined with decorated bikes, pedal carts, and golf carts.

guadalupe tubing

Jellystone Park™ Hill Country near Canyon Lake spreads over 28 wooded acres packed with fun. The park partners with River Sports Tubes who roll in, grab campers and set them up with everything needed to float the day away on the Guadalupe River’s famous Horseshoe Tubing Loop.

Jellystone Park™ Guadalupe River near Kerrville offers up 74 acres to explore including 300-feet along the Guadalupe River. Swim or fish the sparkling river waters or bring along kayaks and paddle boards for more river adventure. Outfitters nearby can set you up with water toys, too.

HC cabins

Both parks provide a myriad of ways to camp. Bring your tent and sleeping bags and stake down at a rustic tent site at the Hill Country park, or take your camping experience up a notch and bed down in a wide range of cozy cabin configurations available at both parks. Each campsite comes equipped with a fire ring and grill rack or stand-up grill. Check out more on accommodation specifics at the resort websites.

Waterzone

Worried that a themed weekend may be too structured for your family? No worries, plenty of opportunities exist to plan your own adventures. Each location offers two outdoor swimming pools, an indoor swimming pool with a hot tub, and interactive water parks (currently open at the Hill Country location; opening in May 2017 at the Guadalupe River location) complete with water slides, water cannons, kiddie slides, and splash pads.

HillCountry_Wet_Hey_Hey_Ride

Unique tractor-pulled wagon rides full of families armed with water guns on the look-out for stealthy park rangers hiding throughout the grounds armed with their own water protection make for fun and exciting water wars. Or relax under the stars with an evening tractor tour of the park where riders with glowsticks add to the nighttime magic.

yogi bear with kids

Explore each park by foot or bike, or rent pedal carts or golf carts to tool around from place to place. Be on the lookout for bears of the friendly kind as Yogi, Boo Boo, and Cindy Bear frequently make appearances. Play a game of laser tag, catch a movie outdoors, or take part in some arts and crafts.

Playgrounds, horseshoe pits, volleyball, and basketball courts all welcome energetic kiddos to come and play. All that fun and exercise will make for a hungry bunch so be sure to visit the campground snack bars for burgers, fries, pizza and more. And whatever you do, don’t leave the snack bar without a cone of crispy, sweet, and fluffy funnel cake fries.

Reserve your spot now at Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park™ on the Guadalupe River, and the Hill Country location near Canyon Lake for an action packed super-sized camping and vacation experience your family won’t forget.
