LakeFest Drag Boat Race 2015, August 7-9, marks the 24th year that the Marble Falls/Lake LBJ Chamber of Commerce transforms Lake Marble Falls into a liquid quarter-mile “racetrack” and the banks of the lake into a thrilling three-day boat race party.

LakeFest was named Lucas Oil’s Event of the Year in 2012, both for how well it is organized but also for drawing the highest boat registration next to World Finals!

Traveling at speeds of 200 plus MPH and impressive elapsed times of 4.322 in 1000 ft, the driver must be on his game each time. Top Alcohol Hydro may use alcohol (pure methanol), nitro-methane may be used with an unblown alcohol hydro. Blown or supercharged engines, as well as un-blown fuel engines may not exceed 565 cubic inches. These machines utilize both V-drives and w-drives and the out rigger style hull made its debut in 2011.

They will make your insides quiver as they pass by!  So get your tickets now while they are on sale and plan your weekend of fast boats and family fun!

We have Lakefest RV spaces available, inside the park!  Limited space is available.  These spaces have no utilities (water, electricity, cable etc.)  and NO PAD!  Spaces are $650 and include 4 – three day wristbands, 1 vehicle pass and 1 RV pass.  Call the chamber for more information!

On Friday, August 7, the gates open at 7am and approximately 100 boats go in the water from 9 am to 12:30 pm for Test & Tune and then one round of qualifying. Drag boat fans swarm Johnson Park on Friday evening for Show N Shine to get up-close and personal with the drivers and boats.  Fans will have a chance to buy official t-shirts and posters for autographs and have their picture taken with the stars of the show.

The highlight of the evening comes at dusk as top-fuelers “fire up”, shooting columns of flames from exhaust pipes and creating a chest-thumping roar.  There will be musical entertainment after the Show n Shine.  There is no admission fee for the concert or the Show & Shine.  Alcohol is permitted, no bottles please!

Gates open bright and early Saturday at 7 am, and qualifying races last all day. After the races are over for the day, spectators can go down to the pits and enjoy a free concert.
