Wild and “wooly” whiskers of all shapes and sizes are preparing to impress at the upcoming competition which is being hosted by the Austin Facial Hair Club. The 2017 Remington Beard Boss World Beard & Moustache Championships are expected to entice over 1,000 competitors as well as fans when they come to the Lone Star State, including lovers of live entertainment, family-friendly fun, and local vendors. And, although they haven’t been highlighted as being on the celebrity list, we thought you’d like this gratuitous ZZ Top photo considering they’re one of Texas’ own, and hugely famous for their bushy and bewhiskered man-beauty!

From September 1 to 3 of this year, mustachioed men, beards of all permutations and combinations, and even some muttonchops will be seen and judged at the Long Center for the Performing Arts, for top hairy honors, with proceeds going to such noble causes as FarmVet.org, LiveStrong.org, and OutYouth.org. The event, which happens bi-annually, is anticipated to be one of the largest to date, drawing participants from throughout the Texas Hill Country, the state, as well as across the nation. If you’re interested in competing, or simply want to see what the hairy commotion is all about, registration and ticket information for this great event that supports worthwhile charities can be found on the Austin Facial Hair Club website link available here.
