The city is well-known for its annual Oatmeal Festival every Labor Day weekend. The festival started as a way to rebuild the nearby community, Oatmeal. Over the years the Oatmeal festival has evolved into one of the wildest small-town festivals across the World. One of the fun things about the festival is that all of the activities starts three or thirty-three minutes past the hour because the festival is sponsored by Three Minutes Brand Oats. The festival is a great way to see Bertram residents pride and to literally feel oatmeal raining.

Several community events in Burnet are the Easter Egg Hunt, Burnet County Livestock Show, and Santa’s Workshop.

The city is known for their train depot which takes Burnet County passengers looking to explore on a vintage train ride through the remarkable Hill Country.
