The 128th Gillespie County Fair is scheduled in Fredericksburg in the Texas Hill Country from August 25-28! Bringing a 4-day celebration to Fredericksburg Downs that will feature live pari-mutuel horse racing, carnival and midway, music and dancing, displays of agricultural, and home products and so much more, the track will host some fantastic family action at the “Oldest Continuous County Fair in Texas”!

Exciting livestock competitions, a parade, queen’s contest, mutton busting, domino tournament and more will hit the Class 3 track and fairgrounds to kick off August 25 with Ag and Home exhibit judging, carnival and vendor booths opening, and Hispanic Night, with live bands starting at 6 p.m. through midnight.

August 26 will see the second day of these exciting events taking place, filled with a fair parade downtown, gates to the fairgrounds opening at 1 p.m. and Mutton Bustin’, Fair Queen Contest and Jeff Woolsey & The Dancehall Kings rounding out the day.

Returning for a third day on August 27 will see you and your family enjoying not only the fair and carnival, but live pari-mutuel horse racing at 1 p.m., followed by more Mutton Bustin’, and a live show by Granger Smith (featuring Earl Dibbles, Jr.) with special guest Gene Watson, from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.

The whole family will not only enjoy three fun-filled days of carnival and midway rides, delicious fair food, agricultural and household exhibits, livestock judging, arts and crafts, and all of this live entertainment, but also a fourth day that includes live horse racing on August 28 at 1 p.m. to wrap things up!

There is no entrance admission to the fairgrounds on Thursday, however, there is a cost for carnival and midway rides and activities.
