Spring time and festivals go hand-in-hand here in Texas. What better time to get outside and have a little fun? Check out these unique Texas spring festivals.

1. Jaycees World’s Largest Rattlesnake Roundup

When: March 11-13, 2016

Where: Nolan County Coliseum, Sweetwater

Jaycees World’s Largest Rattlesnake Roundup is completely devoted to all things rattlesnake. It features a dance, carnival, guided hunts, rattlesnake demonstrations, and a cook-off. Rattlesnake is most certainly on the menu!

2. Rio Frio Fest

When: March 15-19, 2016

Where: Frio Country Resort, Concan

Rio Frio Fest is a “Texas-Style” music festival booked solid with live concerts and activities, such as camping, tubing, hog sacking, washer tournaments, and a crawfish boil. You can’t miss out on this event!

3. Mud Dauber Rock’N Billy Chili Fest

When: March 19, 2016, 12:00 p.m. – 11:45 p.m.

Where: Luckenbach

Celebrate the return of the Mud Dauber in Luckenbach! The Mud Dauber Rock’N Billy Fest will knock your socks off with their live Rock-A-Billy music and a “no holds bar” chili cook-off.

4. Lometa Diamondback Jubilee

When: March 26, 2016

Where: Lometa Regional Park, Lometa

Sweetwater isn’t the only place to see a few rattlesnakes. Head to the Lometa Diamondback Jubilee for their rattlesnake exhibit, a cook-off, car show, carnival, and vendors.

5. Llano Fiddle Fest Weekend

When: April 1-3, 2016

Where: Downtown Llano

Get your boots a tappin’ at the Llano Fiddle Fest where there will be a chuck wagon breakfast, an Air Fiddle & Anything goes – Tricks & Licks contests, an evening concert, and a special Sunday morning service!

6. Wild Hog Festival & Craft Fair

When: April 1-3, 2016

Where: City Park and Yellow Jacket’s Stadium, Sabinal

Here piggy, piggy, piggy! Head out for a squealing good time and chase some hog at the Wild Hog Festival & Craft Fair in Sabinal. This two day, hog chasin’ festival also features rides, games, arts and crafts, and great food.

7. Texas Chick-O-Rama

When: April 2, 2016

Where: Camp Crucis, Granbury

Calling all chicken lovers! The Texas Chick-O-Rama is a festival indulging in all things chicken, including an open-grill cook-off, a crowing competition, games, demonstrations, and educational seminars.

8. Wild Woman Weekend

When: April 8-10, 2016

Where: Blanco

Celebrate the 125th anniversary of Fiesta San Antonio. This citywide festival celebrates San Antonio’s rich and diverse culture with parades, a Mariachi Festival, and the crowning of Miss Fiesta San Antonio!

10. Country Fair & Wiener Dog Races

When: April 23-24, 2016

Where: Buda City Park, Buda

There ain’t nothin’ like a good ‘ol fashion country fair! Head to the Country Fair & Wiener Dog Races in Buda for a BBQ cook-off, a bake off, a washer tournament, a best dressed do contest, and wiener dog races!
