At Jack Sisemore Traveland RV Museum, there are restored or retrieved RVs from summer-vacations-past, coming from all parts of the country. You’ll find that an hour or possibly two will be required to completely review the museum and read all of the vehicle history that it holds. This site also sells and services RVs, but the museum itself has some very well-laid-out exhibits and it’s worth it to travel back in time through this piece of Americana.

2. American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame & Museum

The American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame & Museum is designed to preserve and feature the history and modern uses of this breed of horse as well as cultivate future enthusiasts. It showcases those that have changed and shaped the breed, the horses that have brought it fame, and its displays and information are well-staged. In particular, the link between American and Mexican horse culture is explored thoroughly. Having a great flow between each exhibit, it also features a fantastic gift shop for those that are passionate about the quarter horse.

The U.S. Route 66 Historic District is a mile-long stretch of the road that was formerly Route 66. Now featuring clubs, shops, and restaurants, particular favorites include the Nat Ballroom which is presently an antique store as well as the Golden Light Café, where you can find some of the best hamburgers in the city. It’s not only a great place to eat and shop, but it’s also a wonderful place to learn more about the area’s history. The architecture is wonderful, and the festivals and events that take place here are second-to-none.
