5 Decadent Holiday Dips to Try This December

Move over Christmas cookies – there’s a new treat popping up on tables this holiday season, and there’s no baking involved! Dips are no longer just for devouring with potato chips on football weekends. Sugary sweet holiday-themed dip recipes have been making the rounds online lately, offering a delicious dessert alternative to the standard Christmas cookie or fruit cake. Check out our five favorite dip recipes below:

1. Peppermint Fluff Dip

Nothing says Christmastime like peppermint! This quick and easy dip is perfect for dunking chocolate graham crackers or sandwich cookies.

Ingredients:

  • 1 (7-ounce) container marshmallow fluff
  • 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • ¼ cup peppermints, crushed

Directions: Mix all ingredients together in a serving container. Garnish with crushed peppermints or candycanes. Serve with your favorite cookies or crackers – pairs great with chocolate!

2. Hot Cocoa Cheesecake Dip

If you can’t get enough chocolate – this is the dip for you. It’s like dipping a cookie in your hot cocoa, only so much sweeter!

Ingredients:

  • 4 (.73 ounce) envelopes hot cocoa mix without marshmallows
  • 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1 (4-ounce) container Cool Whip, thawed
  • 2 -3 tablespoons vanilla mallow bits (marshamallow pieces)

Directions: In a medium mixing bowl, add in the hot cocoa mix and cream cheese. Mix on medium with a hand mixer until thoroughly incorporated. Add in the Cool Whip and continue to beat until combined. Scoop into a serving bowl and top with vanilla mallow bits. Serve with cookies.

3. Melted Snowman Dip

This dip looks like Frosty deconstructed! Combining sweet and salty in the best way, melted snowman dip is a fun and festive addition to any holiday table.

Ingredients:

  • 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 (8-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 container Cool Whip
  • ½ cup chocolate chips
  • ¼ cup candy corn
  • mini pretzel sticks

Directions: In a large bowl, mix together cream cheese, sweetened, condensed milk and Cool Whip. Mix until well combined. Fold in chocolate chips and candy corn.  Place the mini pretzel sticks in so that they stick out of the top of the dip. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Serve with standard pretzels or graham crackers.
