No matter how you like to celebrate Easter, there is plenty of variety in the Texas Hill Country. From Easter egg hunts to bike rides, you are bound to find a fun and unique way to spend your Easter weekend. Check out these fun Easter activities that are sure to create some great memories.

1. 2016 Easter Hill Country Tour

Where: Kerrville, TX

The 43rd Annual Easter Hill Country Tour is a great way to get out and enjoy some fresh Hill Country air on Easter weekend. Pedal your way through the Hill Country terrain on quiet, paved roads. Enjoy a scenic bike ride along creeks, through river valleys, over gently sloping hills, and up a few steep climbs to some of the best views in Texas. There are rides and routes for all levels of bicycle enthusiasts. A Sunrise Easter Service will be held at 7 a.m. on the outdoor patio at Schreiner University on Sunday. This event is hosted by the Fort Worth Bicycle Association.

2. Balloons Over Horseshoe Bay Resort

Where: Horseshoe Bay Resort Ranch, Horseshoe Bay, TX

No egg hunts here, but what’s cooler than watching 20 hot air balloons take flight? This event is chock full of activities, which include rock wall climbing and trampolines for the kiddos, a Safari Greg Animal Show, wine tasting, a magic and comedy show, and live music by Ed Kowalczyk. On Sunday, enjoy an Easter Grand Buffet Brunch.

3. Easter Pageant

When: Saturday, March 26, 2016

Where: Junction, TX

Focusing on what Easter is all about, the folks Junction come together in a tradition that formed over 60 years ago. The Easter Pageant starts with a traditional Bible lesson, and local volunteers put on a yearly production of the crucifixion and resurrection of Christ just beneath the bluff known as Lovers Leap. There is an outdoor theatre where local actors put on live performances, and appearances are made by local animals. Visitors should come early and park along the foot of the hill to get a good spot for the performance! The pageant begins at sundown.

4. Easter at the Farm

When: Saturday, March 26, 2016 from 10 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Where: Lyndon B. Johnson State Park and Historic Site

Learn how a 1915 German farm family celebrated Easter at the living history Sauer-Beckman Farmstead. See some of the traditional decor, the traditional Easter Lamb Cake, how to naturally dye eggs, and how to create a grass nest.

5. Teen Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt

Where: Dottie Jordan Recreation Center, Austin, TX

Nowadays it gets harder and harder to find a good Easter egg hunt for children over the age of 12. Well, folks, Austin has delivered yet again. Get your teens out of the house for a couple of hours for some fun away from the gaming systems. This egg hunt is free to attend and there are chances to win free gift cards.
