5 Salsa Recipes You Need to Try Now

For it, you’ll need 1 cup blueberries, 5 strawberries, 1/4 red onion, 1 teaspoon lime zest, juice of 2 limes, 1/3 cup cilantro, 1/2 chopped avocado, and salt, pepper to taste.

Combine all of these in your food processor and pulse until you get the right consistency. This one is all about personal preference – you can leave it chunkier or blend it a little smoother than normal salsa.

3. Habanero Salsa

Admittedly not for the faint of heart, this habanero salsa will separate the champions from those without iron stomachs.

This spicy beast of salsa requires 2 teaspoons vegetable oil, 1/4 cup diced white onion, and 2 cloves garlic. Cook in pan until soft, and add to blender with: 2 cups water, 2 teaspoons salt, 1 chopped tomato, 8 fresh habanero chiles, 1 tablespoon of white vinegar, and 1 tablespoon honey or agave nectar.

Blend this salsa until it’s basically smooth and enjoy! If you can, that is.

2. Grilled Cherry Salsa

This salsa sounds like a dessert salsa, but it’s not! And it’s so delicious, it even goes well with porkchops.

You’ll need 1 red onion, 1 sweet onion, 2 jalapeños, 2 cups pitted cherries (frozen and thawed will work, too!), 2 garlic cloves, 3.5 tablespoons olive oil, juice of 2 limes, 1 can roasted tomatoes, and 1/2 cup chopped cilantro. Salt and pepper to taste, also.

This recipe uses a grill, which makes it even funner to make. The full instructions are available at HowSweetEats, but basically you grill the peppers and onions like you normally would. Get out your grill tray/basket for your cherries and grill until they start to burst. Add all of this to a food processor with the remaining ingredients, and enjoy!
