5 Things You’ll Regret Not Doing in the Texas Hill Country
1. Not Taking the Road Less Traveled

Spending time off on your own or with friends and family is great when it’s plotted out and perhaps you have an itinerary, but sometimes the paths that you take which aren’t on the map, weren’t in a guide book, or weren’t necessarily scheduled into your day planner can lead to some fortuitous finds! Keep your eyes and mind open and maybe take some tips from the locals.
2. Not Taking More Pictures

After visiting the Hill Country region and seeing so many amazing towns and sights, you might regret neglecting your camera or your camera phone in your travels. Sure you might think your photo albums are filled with amazing pictures and what’s one more going to do, but you’ll kick yourself for not having the speed to snap up some photos of your travels when it’s time to describe just how magnificent it all really was!
3. Not Shopping Local

Small business can support a great economy, and the Texas Hill Country local product is ripe for the pickin’! Be it antiques, hand-made products or food fare, flea market finds, or craft fair haberdashery, the Hill Country can produce and you can take your time picking and choosing while supporting local business.
4. Not Trying Something Different

A love of the every day and the norm can often keep us from trying things that might otherwise bring you joy. The Texas Hill Country has so many fun things to see and do that you won’t find in any other part of the state, that you don’t want to relegate yourself to your bed and breakfast or hotel, only to return home with a feeling that you missed out. Look around you and experience all that you can!
5. Not Spending Time Just Soaking It Up

Like any great trip, a tour of the Texas Hill Country can go by in the blink of an eye if you let it! Of all the plans you make on your trip, plan to spend some time just taking in the sights, the smell of great food, the laughter and good conversation with locals, and maybe the scenery (we hear it’s pretty nice!) Do what you love and love what you, but don’t do it at the expense of some serious downtime, which can also be found in boatloads in “them thar hills.”
