Festival-goers to 2018 Crawfest New Braunfels can celebrate the season with crawdads and music at the Comal County Fairgrounds April 27 – 29. Rolling out the big red Texas carpet in New Braunfels and honoring a favorite delicacy, you’ll find 50 shades of cray (pun intended) at this fantastic Texas Hill Country food festival.

Activities at the 2018 Crawfest New Braunfels include the Crawfish Gumbo Cook-off, a 5K Crawdaddy Dash, and a Crawfish Eating Contest. There’s even a race for the fastest crustacean as a crawfish race is in the lineup! Country music and zydeco lovers will also enjoy the live entertainment with artists such as Love & Chaos, Whiskey Myers, Jean-Pierre, and Slim Bawb, and, on Sunday, the festival features Tejano music from Siggno and Lucky Joe!

Games such as Giant Jenga, a washer-toss tournament, and beer pong dot the festival schedule, and prizes are nothing to sneeze at! And, carnival rides will also be available for the kids, and the kids-at-heart. An early bird discount for tickets is available until April 1 at $10, and tickets at the gate will be $15. After 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, the cost goes up to $25, but it’s worth it for a great night out! There are also VIP passes, crawfish & free parking pass reservations, and camping to be had! The event website (a link for which is provided here) provides all the details for those looking to get in on the fun. It’s sure to be a fun time in the Texas Hill Country as New Braunfels organizers say their mission is “…to take the cookie cutter version of a crawfish festival …and destroy it!”
