Two Studio Guest House
If you’ve ever wanted to know what it would be like to live on a ranch, then spend a weekend wandering the 200 acres that make up Montesino Ranch. Five minutes from downtown Wimberley, the nine-acre farm produces its own organic vegetables, fruits, and pasture- raised chicken eggs. The ranch operation also raises its own grass-fed organic beef and non-GMO chickens.
A grove of 100-year old pecan trees shades the guest houses that overlook the farm below. Two studios (one upstairs, one downstairs) make up each guest house. These have private bathrooms, which include showers, and the guest houses have both queen beds and single sleeper sofas. Fully-equipped kitchens in each studio even come with complimentary farm-fresh eggs. Also available: a shared outdoor grill and firepit.
Explore the entire property, hiking or biking along the scenic trails throughout the ranch. Bring your camera for tons of photography opportunities, including: landscape, wildlife, ranch animals, and birds. Swim, fish, or paddle-board in the Blanco River that edges the property. Grab a book and a blanket for a quiet afternoon of relaxation.
During growing season, ask for a tour and experience organic farming and ranching firsthand. In the afternoon, visit the barn to purchase fresh produce and meats, and enjoy paying on the honor system by dropping your cash into a cigar box. Then, do your own farm-to-table dinner back at your studio.
