Through a composite of over 5 million restaurant reviews from Dec. ’14 – Dec. ’15, the folks over at OpenTable have come up with a list of the most romantic restaurants in America. The list includes over 20,000 restaurants, and Texas was one of seven states to have six or more restaurants make the list. There are some classic spots, like The French Room at the 104-year-old Adolphus Hotel in Dallas, but some of the winners might surprise you.

1. Cacharel Restaurant (Arlington)

It would not be very Texan, we suppose, to overlook a French restaurant that sits atop a tower with a perfect view of Cowboys Stadium. The popular dinner spot serves up classic French fare and also hosts banquets next to its Grand Ballroom.

2. Chez Nous French Restaurant (Humble)

A surprising pick perhaps, it is located in Humble in a quaint little spot that used to be a church. This French restaurant averages five stars based on several hundred reviews for what one OpenTabler says, “is just like any of the best restaurants in Paris.”

3. The French Room (Dallas)

There is no secret surrounding The French Room, a fine dining spot located in the heart of Dallas in the historic Adolphus Hotel. It is downright fabulous and offers the best in both service and food, so if you find yourself on a romantic getaway to …Dallas, for some reason, make sure and think twice. Its ambiance is unmatched.

4. Shearn’s Seafood and Prime Steaks (Galveston)

The Moody Gardens hotel is a top tourist attraction in Galveston, one of Texas’ favorite little beach towns. It hosts this AAA Four Diamond award-winning restaurant, and on OpenTable it is said, “the view is great and the way you feel when you enter the dining room …sets the stage for how your meal is going to go.”

5. St Martin’s Wine Bistro (Dallas)

This chic French bistro and piano bar is located in the newly redeveloped Lower Greenville area of Dallas. Once with a reputation for gunshots and fast cars, the neighborhood is now host to select spots and fancy meals like you’ll find at St. Martin’s.

6. Café Central (El Paso)

Accented with southwestern appeal, this fine dining restaurant is sure to set the evening’s mood in what one OpenTabler calls, “the premier restaurant in El Paso.” Mighty claim, but we hear the Scottish Salmon is to die for and that the ambience is worth a visit alone.
