Time-Lapse Video Shows Just How Long it Takes to Braid Horse Tails

By  |

If you’ve ever owned a horse, you know that maintaining their beautiful locks can be time consuming, but this woman shows us just how worth it the task is.

In the video below, you see a woman set up a camera as she begins the long-winded task of braiding her horse’s hair. While there’s no information provided by the user, it’s clear that the time lapse footage makes the braiding session seem less than a minute, while in reality, it probably took around 20 minutes or so. That’s only half the tail, too!

She’s also working the tail into a fishtail braid, which requires dexterous fingers and patient horse that doesn’t mind having some hair tugged here and there. The finished result is a tightly braided half tail, which looks amazing and emphasizes the beauty of the horse’s hair.

This isn’t the most intricate braided tail we’ve seen, but a video detailing one of the harder braids might take much, much longer even in a sped-up, time lapse mode just to show off the skills of the person doing it.

Have you ever braided a horse’s tail? Are there any styles you prefer or skills that are needed to do the job well? Let us know in the Facebook comments and we’ll try to feature that braided style, too!
