Army Veteran Gets Home Makeover with Help of 2 NFL Players

By  |

Erich Orrick is an Army veteran and the president of Wish for Our Heroes, an organization that provides services to veterans in need. What Orrick needed, however, was a home makeover.

Who better to help than Indianapolis Colts players Pat McAfee and Coby Fleener, who have both worked with Orrick before to benefit Wish for Our Heroes. Because Orrick continually devoted his time to others and rarely took a second for himself, the two players decided a good deed was in order.

Over three months, McAfee and Fleener planned this home makeover as part of their #ThankAHero campaign. They couldn’t think of a more deserving person than Erich Orrick, a single dad and overall do-gooder.

They tricked him into leaving his home for a few days, which was a show called “Find Your Foundation” so Orrick hung out with the two athletes and had no idea they were fixing his home the whole time.

They created this elaborate trick so Orrick would not only get his dream home makeover, but also so he would be able to share the mission of his organization and his story in order to get other people to support veterans around the country.
