Upon Deploying to Vietnam, These Marines Lost Each Other. 50 Years, They Reunited.
These four Marines lost track of each other after arriving in Vietnam to fight, but 50 years later, they reunited on a Florida beach.
Bob Falk, Dennis Puleo, Tom Hanks, and Bob DeVenezia reunited after 50 years to recreate one epic beach photo that they never forgot. They were together, finally, and they were going to make it count.
The Naples Daily News reported that these four Marines “were stationed together in Camp Pendleton, outside of San Diego…they’d train together and deploy together.” However, upon arriving in Vietnam, they all went their separate ways, but never forgot each other.
Due to life taking its course, and also the outpouring of anti-veteran emotions following the war, each man drifted into his own life. However, the four men got back in touch a few years ago and began to plan a trip to recreate the photograph they took in May 1966.
Together, they caught each other up on the last 50 years, and also realized just how lucky they were, to have all four come out of the Vietnam conflict alive and fairly well, even though two of the four were injured.
This awesome beach trip, returning each man to his youth, is one that they won’t ever forget.
