These Students Found an Incredible Testing Day Surprise Waiting on Their Desks
One elementary school teacher went above and beyond for students on the day of their big statewide exam with this testing day surprise.
Mrs. Chandni Langford knew how nervous her fifth-grade class was for the statewide test in New Jersey known as the PARCC. These tests are designed to test aptitude and to monitor students’ growth across all grades. It’s a high-pressure, high-stress exam that students prepare for all year, so Mrs. Langford knew she had to do something amazing.
On the morning of the test, she went to each student’s desk and wrote in dry-erase marker personalized messages of encouragement to each student, with a few donut holes on each desk. The messages are full of inspirational quotations, but also draw on their own experiences in the classroom.
The Woodbury City Public Schools Facebook page shared these photos with the world where they have quickly gone viral as an example of a teacher who, like every teacher, went above and beyond for her students.
You’ll notice that the desks aren’t signed by Mrs. Langford, but instead “Your Teachers”. This was intentional as Mrs. Langford wants to drive home the point that when everyone works together, only then can success be found.
Mrs. Langford, our hats are off to your kind words!
