Fire Walk Burns Feet at Tony Robbins’ Texas Seminar

A motivational event in Dallas on Thursday ended with several attendees seeking medical attention. The sold out seminar called “Unleashing the Power Within” was lead by famous motivational speaker Tony Robbins, and the final portion of the event featured a fire walk over hot coals.

Trainers involved with Tony Robbins’ event told WFAA that the fire walk is “a very emotional experience for many people.” About 7,000 people in Dallas trekked over the hot coals, which is a regular activity at these seminars. EMS was already on hand, and they treated 30 – 40 people, with 5 needing a trip to the hospital.

What could cause some people to need medical attention and not others? Jacqueline Luxemberg, an attendee of the fire walk, said, “From my observation, there was someone in front of us and someone behind us on their cell phone, taking selfies and taking pictures…so I think that that has a lot to do with it.”

Fire walkers at Robbins’ seminar feel like they are overcoming their fears and obstacles by undertaking the journey across the fiery coals. For many, that’s worth the risk of burnt skin that could leave them limping for medical attention. The event has been deemed “successful” by Robbins’ organization.
