If the thought of pulling on your favorite pair of jeans, boots, and sweatshirt makes your toes curl with happy anticipation, then this weekend’s forecast may have you two-stepping across your back porch before you know it. Although autumn officially started two days ago, a high-pressure system has held the Texas Hill Country in a vice-like grip that’s brought nothing but heat and humidity. Days with highs in the mid-90s and heat indices hurdling cleanly over the century mark are about to come to an end.

According to the latest weather forecast from Austin’s KVUE, cooler temperatures and rain are driving this way. Though Friday is forecasted to remain muggy, cloud cover and pop-up showers will keep temperatures down. Then Saturday, rain chances increase with temperatures scheduled to reach just 90 degrees. The cold front arrives Sunday with heavier rain showers scheduled for the afternoon and into Monday morning. Rain accumulations throughout the Hill Country are forecasted to be between 1.5 to 2 inches. Tune into your local televisions station for the latest updates on the welcome arrival of fall.
