‘Mannequin Challenge’ Ends in Engagement for Texas Woman

The “mannequin challenge” went viral very quickly after high school students made it popular. While younger people are probably already over the trend, adults are still enjoying the fun. The “challenge” is to stay completely still (maintaining a pose) while someone walks around the frozen scene with a camera. The Dallas Cowboys uploaded their interpretation, gymnasts have filmed astounding versions and now, a Texan has used the trend to set-up the perfectly unexpected engagement.

Sue Merino and Jamie Ferrini were celebrating Thanksgiving with family and friends when the group decided to take on the “mannequin challenge,” little did Merino know that the camera was poised to get her reaction most of all.

At first, Merino is completely frozen, and once other family members notice what’s going on they start chatting and gasping. “I thought ‘why is everyone talking? This is the mannequin challenge!'” Merino told ABC 13. “Turn around!” someone finally yelled. Once Merino turned, she was shocked to find Ferrini down on one knee, looking gleefully at his future wife.

The moment is pretty adorable as a flabbergasted Merino searches for a place to set down her wine glass before accepting. The video already has over 7 million views and 43,000 reactions on Facebook!
