Whiskey Myers Performs ‘Home’ on The Texas Music Scene

“The Texas Music Scene”, hosted by Grammy winner Ray Benson, features both legends and up-and-comers that epitomize Texas in song. The talent in Texas is comparable to, and in a lot of ways more grass-roots than Nashville. Going into its second year on air, The Texas Music Scene earns top ratings in not only Texas, but also Oklahoma, Colorado, and New Mexico. And with acts like Whiskey Myers, it’s hard not to blow the roof off those ratings!

Performing the song “Home”, the show garnered viewers in cities and towns throughout Texas, several additional states, and its online viewing (post-taping) reached into Canada. With their unique sound from the Lone Star State, Whiskey Myers was a natural fit.

Getting their start in East Texas, Whiskey Myers band members Cody Cannon and Cody Tate started writing the music that soon would incorporate guitarist and friend John Jeffers. Their early beginnings found them performing under the name Lucky Southern before moving to Tyler, Texas where they met drummer Jeff Hogg and bass guitarist Gary Brown and formed the 5-piece band we know so well as Whiskey Myers.
