SXSW Looking For Volunteers to Help with the Massive Event
Austin’s yearly film, music, and technology festival, SXSW, will take over the city from March 10th to 19th. People from around the globe will flock to Texas’s capital to take part in the conference and the round the clock entertainment, but it’s not exactly cheap to attend. Music, film, and interactive badges cost $1,225 each, and an all access platinum badge will set festivalgoers back $1,550.
If throwing down over $1,000 isn’t your style, there’s another way to get a badge – by volunteering. Volunteers will need to work a total of 24 hours during one of the events (interactive, film or music) to gain their respective badge, but they can gain access to exciting opportunities while working.
KVUE reports that “the festival depends on more than 4,000 volunteers to make the event a reality. Not only are volunteers considered the face of SXSW, but they also have the most access to the perks of the festival — like celebrities, techies, musicians and educators.”
To gain a spot as a volunteer for the massive festival, stop by the Austin Convention Center Ballroom (first floor) on either Sunday, January 22nd or Saturday, February 11th between the hours of 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. If you cannot attend, you can fill out a form online here. Availability is not guaranteed.
