A Beautiful Baby Budweiser Clydesdale Has Been Born
The Budweiser Clydesdale family of Warm Springs Ranch in Boonville, Missouri grew last week when a colt was born. A horse named Porsche gave birth to baby boy Pete. KHOU reports that Pete is the first foal of the season.
The Warm Springs Ranch says on their Facebook page that they’re a “state-of-the-art Budweiser Clydesdale breeding farm on 300+ acres of lush, rolling hills.” Nearly 49,000 people follow their account to get updates on their stunning horses.
Fans have already noticed that Pete’s facial markings are slightly different than his mother’s, and they were worried that he could possibly be disqualified from the Budweiser group. But the Ranch replied, “Pete’s coloring doesn’t automatically disqualify him from making it onto the Budweiser Hitch. So as long as he meets all other requirements, height, behavior, etc. he has a good chance of being on the hitch when he’s old enough!”
The Warm Springs Ranch’s website explains that there are three hitch locations for Budweiser Clydesdales, but their official home is in St. Louis. Taking care of the horses, breeding and training them takes a lot of effort. When Pete grows up he will eat “as much as 20 to 25 quarts of whole grains, minerals, and vitamins, 50 to 60 pounds of hay and 30 gallons of water per day!” Hopefully, he’ll eat well and grow up to be big enough to join the hitch.
