This year’s lifetime achievement award will be presented to Houston native and Country music legend Kenny Rogers. Co-Chairs for this year’s event are Chairman and CEO of the San Antonio Spurs, Peter Holt and local businessman and arts patron, Guillermo Nicolas.
The Texas Cultural Trust is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization which strives to be an advocate in promoting the importance of the arts in educating our children. “Supporting the arts ensures Texas’ cultural and economic advantage for the future,” shares on its Facebook page. The Texas Medal of Arts highlights the legends and rising stars in their field of excellence to showcase not only their talent but contributions they have made to strengthen the economy and ensure Texas continues to trailblaze in the arts.
