The Blind Tasting

Featuring a VIP Experience, a champagne 5K run, and an opportunity to meet the chefs, the Galveston Island Food and Wine Festival makes wine tasting so much more than fun! A blind tasting event takes place in two rounds in which guests swirl, sniff, and sip over 100 red and white wines while each bottle wears a disguise. They must rely only on their palates to determine the attributes and wine making story for each vintage, voting as they taste. The three top-scoring from each of the reds and whites in rounds one and two advance to the Chaine des Rôtisseurs Dinner where one of these six will be named the festival’s Grand Champion.
The Premium Wine Tasting

The Premium Wine Tasting event is a visitor’s opportunity to sip and savor the top wines of the festival from more than 30 premium vintages. A full list of this year’s featured wines will be available on the festival website as it becomes updated. Premium Tasting participants will be among the first to taste the decadent dining creations in the event hors d’oeuvres that are planned to be paired with the premium wine. The Grand Tasting

The highlight of the Galveston Island Food and Wine Festival is the Grand Tasting, where connoisseurs fill their wine passports with stamps as they take a tasting trip through worldwide vineyard product and sample food creations from some of the finest restaurants in Galveston.
