Sink Your Teeth Into These Beautiful Geode Sweets

You might have seen a geode cake or two pop up on Facebook, Instagram or Pinterest in the past year. The captivating look of a geode-cake hybrid has been recreated by many artists who love the sparkly and otherworldly look. Bored Panda recently made a visual list of multiple kinds of geode sweets to introduce those who may not be familiar with dessert trends to what’s going on in the world of confectionary creatives. “The rock candy accents on these sweets make them look super unique and scrumptious at the same time!” they write.

How does one make such gorgeous desserts? The blog Cookies, Cupcakes, and Cardio shows one way to build your own geode-like cake creation. It involves cutting out part of a cake and placing bits of rock candy piece by piece into piping gel on the cake’s surface.
