A Small Plane Made an Emergency Landing on an Allen, TX Tollway
In Allen, Texas on Thursday morning around, the Sam Rayburn Tollway service road became a makeshift runway when a small plane experienced loss of engine power. According to WFAA, the pilot “landed on the northbound service road just before 9 a.m. after determining he wouldn’t make it to an airport.”
Luckily CW 33 confirms that only one person was on board, and he was not injured. Also, the impromptu landing didn’t cause any injuries either, though it did create its fair share of confusion. People were obviously shocked to see the plane land on the road. “Small plane landed on northbound service road of 121 between Custer and Exchange Pkwy. #CantMakeThisUp,” Michael Gonterwitz tweeted.
But even once the little plane safely landed, its chaotic day wasn’t over yet. A truck had to pull it off of the tollway, and as seen in a video uploaded by Hannah VanHuss Davis on Twitter, it looked like the plane was struggling to stay on course. It fishtailed wildly back and forth across the road as police trailed behind it, creating a buffer between the perplexed Texas tollway drivers and the little plane having a ridiculously rough morning.
