Salt Lick BBQ to Open a New Location in Grapevine Next Year
“This is a big night for us. This is something to celebrate,” Grapevine City Councilwoman Darlene Freed said, according to the Star-Telegram. Freed excitingly revealed the news that Grapevine, Texas will welcome a new Salt Lick BBQ, a restaurant often hailed as one of Texas’s best barbecue joints.
Since the Hill Country eatery has such a strong and loyal fan base, many customers are hoping that the new location will capture the good old-fashioned country charm of the original. As Kellie Collins Stramel wrote on the Salt Lick’s Facebook page, “Yay!! Please have it as authentic as the original, don’t fall for the ‘new and improved’ version that’s not what your loyal customers want!!”
Since the Salt Lick owners know exactly what their customers like, they plan on erecting the new 10,000 square foot building in a wooded area north of Grapevine Mills Parkway where 200-year-old trees will flank the traditional style restaurant, which will make it appear older.
Grapevine is really growing up – in the same area, Kubota Tractor recently opened up a new headquarters. Soon, Mercedes-Benz USA will join them with a distribution center along with a new resort and waterpark. The new Salt Lick BBQ location will most likely open its doors to hungry customers in late 2018.
