Experience the World’s Tallest Water Coaster at Schlitterbahn Galveston in Thrill-Rider’s Video

Thrill-seekers had one more reason to road-trip to Texas last summer with the opening of the 10th anniversary season of Schlitterbahn Waterpark in Galveston and their brand new, record-breaking attraction called MASSIV – an 81-foot-tall (plus 6 and 3/4-inches), 926-foot-long water coaster!

This wild, gravity-defying ride includes a nerve-wracking climb up 123 stairs while you pre-worry what the ride’s going to be like and whether you’re going to pass out from the heights or have to change your shorts from the cascading falls. Either way, scads of park-goers lined up last year to take the inaugural rides, which were something they wouldn’t soon forget. Constructed using 135 slide segments, including seven transparent tubes, MASSIV also features “water blasters” that catapult riders up and over hills before they progress into a large landing pool.

Opening new attractions such as this is nothing new for Schlitterbahn, and their numerous locations have seen the world’s longest river ride and tube chute as well as the tallest waterslide in history. Every year, they attract thousands of visitors from around the world, and since their opening of Schlitterbahn Waterpark Resort in New Braunfels, in the Texas Hill Country, in 1979, their parks have won numerous awards and repeatedly have been voted some of the best water parks in America. Are you ready to take a ride on MASSIV this summer? Get your windpipes ready, because this scream-inducing water ride will be all the rage in its second season in Galveston.
