Although he can’t drive, vote, or drink, a 14-year-old by the name of Carson Huey-You is about to graduate from Texas Christian University. At 5-foot-2-inches-tall, with a budding mustache, on Saturday, May 13, Carson will graduate with a double minor in Chinese and math, and a major in physics.

In an interview with CBS, Carson said, “I’m just a normal 14-year-old kid just doing college-level academic work.” He started his post-secondary work four years ago, and since then, this prodigy has become somewhat of a campus celebrity. In an interview with his peers, one classmate said, “I’ll never forget walking in. He said in Chinese that he was a junior, and I was like no, that can’t be right. And then he turned out to be cool too. Like, he’s not just a genius. He’s also awesome.”

Since day one, Carson’s mother, Claretta Kimp, has walked the boy-wonder to class. And he’s not the only brainy boon to the family. Kimp’s youngest son graduated from high school today (Friday, May 12), and he’s only 11 years old. He’ll start at TCU in the fall, doing a double major in astrophysics and engineering. Kimp credits God, and the boys credit her. Carson told CBS that he owes “everything, really” to his mom, and the boys’ double-graduation this Mother’s Day weekend is proof of her loving care indeed.
