Spurs Fans Are Not Thrilled With the Newly Leaked Logo

During the NBA Draft, the Spurs will officially debut a new logo to be used this season, but the designs have already leaked. The full “San Antoino Spurs” logo resembles the old one, but has a more simplistic approach. By taking away the outlined border of the old logo, it comes across as cleaner and more minimalistic. But the redesign didn’t stop there. A new, smaller logo leaked online, as well. According to KENS5, the secondary logo is meant to fit onto merchandise, and while the circular design will easily fit onto a hat or t-shirt, fans are not feeling it.

12Up posted on Twitter that the secondary design looks too much like Clippers logo, and ¡Yo soy El Chris! posted his own edited version of the logo, artistically reflecting how it makes him feel – “SAD.” Even an online petition at Change.org has popped up to urge Spurs officials to pull the new secondary logo. “IDEA: BRING BACK FIESTA COLORS,” they encourage the franchise.

But not everyone hates the new look. News 4 San Antonio’s Jeff Garcia says they’re both “modern” and “fresh.” “It will be interesting to see if fans will eventually warm up to them,” he adds.
