Story of a Lost Dog in Longview Found Stuck In Storm Drain Has a Happy Ending
Tiffany Davis cried tears of fear and relief after finding out that her puppy Buckie was trapped in a storm drain close to her house in Longview. Tiffany and her husband had searched high and low for the pup throughout the weekend, but they didn’t know to look as low as a storm drain. On Monday, a passerby heard barking coming from the drain and called authorities. Animal control and the Longview Fire Department were ready to answer the puppy’s cries.
KLTV says that firefighter Jacob Adkins went down into the drain, but the scared dog retreated further into the darkness. Firefighters remembered the Davis’ flyer looking for Buckie, so they gave them a call. The Davises rushed to the scene with two of Buckie’s siblings to coax the pup toward Adkins. The plan worked, and the family was reunited with joyous tears and puppy licks.
KTRE reports that this isn’t the first time a puppy has gone missing after falling into a storm drain in Longview. A few years ago, a similar incident took place when an officer heard a dog whimper and discovered a pup had fallen 30 feet down into the drain. Thankfully, its story also has a happy ending after it was rescued and healed.
