Mom Orchestrates Amazing Dorm Makeover for Her Daughter’s Freshman Year at Texas State

By  |

A Texas State University student’s mom posted photos of her daughter’s freshman year dorm room on Facebook, and the post has gained over 1,000 shares. What could possibly be so interesting about a standard, tiny dorm room? Well, this room in Sterry Hall shared by two lucky young ladies is decked out to look fit for an interior design magazine.

According to the post from Makeup By Sheila, it took 20 hours and 7 people to transform the room to its new, stylish state. The before photos show how nearly-clinical the rooms appeared without any sort of personality or excitement. But after the lengthy makeover, freshman Skylar Bantz and her roomie will have the best room to hang out in (and sometimes study).

MySA.com says that the room measures 16’x16’ and both girls split the cost of around $500 to make it shine. “Elevating the beds allowed space for the students to fit an entertainment center with a Keurig Coffee Maker and printer beneath it,” the news writes.

And if you’re wondering how they changed the surface texture of the walls and desks, it’s a sticker that can easily be removed at the end of the year when the girls move out. Scroll through the before and after photos below.
