Gospel Performance in a Houston Shelter Will Bring Tears to Your Eyes

Forty miles from Houston in the Lone Star Expo Center in Conroe, evacuees were trying to find some peace while dealing with the turmoil around them. Suddenly, volunteers came together to brighten up the shelter with a gospel song titled “Spirit Break Out.” The acapella rendition surprised everyone within ear shot, and a calm fell over the room.

WFAA says that the soloist was Victoria White. White works as an admissions counselor at Sam Houston State University, and decided to volunteer with Others Outreach Missions, Inc. at the Lone Star Expo Center.

Her gorgeous voice emoting hope was shared across the world through a Facebook post by Joni Villemez-Comeaux. It now has over 447 thousand shares and 17 million views! “This woman’s powerful voice, singing praise, lifted the Spirit of all within earshot. Hard to believe but close to a million people have already viewed this beautiful Soul spreading her gift. You’re such a blessing…” Villemez-Comeaux wrote.

White stated that she had no idea that her singing was recorded, “But God had a plan!” she wrote on Facebook. “Not only did He want to Love on those gathered in Lonestar Expo Center who suffered loss at the hands of Hurricane Harvey, but He wanted to love on people across the world who were dealing with their own personal storms.”
