Lyft and Budweiser Team Up to Offer Free Rides Home on Weekends
Of course, Budweiser wants you to kick back at the end of a long week and drink a few beers while hanging out with friends, but they don’t want to promote drunk driving. In fact, the company is attempting to push their customers to “Give a Damn. Don’t Drive Drunk,” in their newest campaign. Now, they’ve taken their efforts a step further by teaming up with Lyft to offer 150,000 total round-trip rides for free. (Well, rides up to $10 each way will be free.)
ABC 13 explains that the offer is valid through the weekends and holidays this year in “…Texas, New York, Colorado, Illinois, Florida, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Missouri, Georgia and Washington, D.C.”
In order to claim the code to get the free ride (for up to three days after obtaining the code), Engadget explains that “…every Thursday at 2 PM ET, Budweiser will share a code on its Facebook and Instagram channel that you can use Thursday, Friday and Saturday night (in the US only).”
Budweiser hopes that this offer will be used so people feel free to celebrate the holiday season but do so smartly with a designated driver to take them home at the end of a night of partying.
