Red 55 Winery Honored in Largest Wine Competition in America

The 2018 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition recently announced its winners, and Red 55 Winery was among those honored. Based in Lindale, Texas and owned and operated by Miranda Lambert together with parents Beverly, and Rick, the winery business has grown to include a wine club and clearly spread its wings (a pun of their wine label) as a solid producer in the industry.

Taking to social media with the news on January 17, Red 55 Winery’s Facebook account acknowledged the team behind the success and made note of the size of this competition, and subsequently the merit its accolades hold: “Congratulations Team Red 55! The largest competition of American wines in the world names best American wines of 2018 After receiving 6,960 entries from 35 states across the country.”

According to a notification by Wine Judging, close to 70 judges traveled to Sonoma County in California during the second week of January to select the best wines of America. In all, 35 states were represented in the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition, which is recognized as the largest of its kind in the U.S. Judges rated the beverages as Bronze, Silver, Gold or Double Gold in their respective categories, and Red 55’s awards went to their 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon (Double Gold), their 2016 Pinot Grigio called “Kerosene” (Silver), and their 2015 Unoaked Chardonnay called “White Liar,” which received a bronze.
