Central Texas Braces for Damaging Storm System Midweek
From Wednesday afternoon through Thursday morning, Texas and the Southeast face potential flooding risks as a storm system sweeps through.
The threat of severe thunderstorms and heavy rains will face Texas beginning Wednesday morning, with the greatest risk of severe weather coming on Wednesday evening into Thursday.
As Accuweather reported, “Severe weather will erupt as a cold front slices into the surge of warmth set to bring a dramatic upswing in temperatures during the first half of the week.” In layman’s terms, enjoy the warmth because we’ll be paying for it on Wednesday when the “storms will initiate ahead of a cold front across eastern Texas and spread northeastward into the Ozarks.”
The hotter the day, the heavier the storms. The storm system is expected to bring heavy downpours to the highlighted region, and in some areas could produce large hail and tornadoes. “The cities at risk for the violent thunderstorms Wednesday evening and Wednesday night include Dallas and San Antonio, Texas,” Accuweather warns.
By the time Thursday afternoon rolls around, the area should be clear from major weather disturbances. Friday is predicted to be a quaint sunny and 75. We can almost hear Joe Nichols singing about it even now.
