Austin’s 2017 ACL Festival’s Lineup Released, Jay Z Added
The Austin City Limits Music Festival at Zilker Park in Austin, TX takes over the city for two full weekends of huge music acts and smaller bands who will make a slew of new fans. The line-up for the Oct 6-8 and 13-15, 2017 festival was released Thursday at 6 a.m., and wristbands for both weekends went on sale soon afterward at 10 a.m.
Fans began scooping up the three-day passes quickly after they saw that the major headliners included 90s alt rock favorites Red Hot Chili Peppers, Grammy-award-winning Chance the Rapper and animated art band Gorillaz. Later in the afternoon, ACL nonchalantly dropped another big name by announcing Jay Z, who will headline both weekends of the fest.
Those who purchase tickets should check to make sure their favorite bands will be attending both weekends, if not, they’ll have a mark next to their name on the lineup list seen here. Day to day schedules will be released as the festival grows near along with one-day passes.
According to My Statesman, earlier this week, a fake lineup “leaked” and made the rounds on social media. On that list, Frank Ocean, Elton John, Gorillaz and The XX took the top four spots. It looks like the fake line-up maker only managed to guess one major headliner correctly!
