Adrian Peterson recently announced that he would personally donate $100,000 to flood victims of Palestine, Texas, and will match all donations to the Salvation Army.

Per The Bleacher Report, the famous footballer announced that he would donate $100k to his hometown of Palestine, Texas, to be used to help flood victims find their footing. He will match any donations made to the Salvation Army for this cause, as well.

On the subject, Peterson stated in an interview: “Seeing the devastation and the disaster there, and more importantly six lives were claimed due to the storm, I feel obligated being in my position to use my resources to be able to help my community come back from this. It’s something that has never happened before. Palestine is not known for flooding. So it really caught people by surprise.”

One of the adult victims of the flood played football with Adrian Peterson in high school, so the cause hit home for the star. His own family is safe, but it’s great to see someone in his position donating to his hometown in its time of need.
